Strategic Innovation
RESO Framework – the design and execution of workable strategy
We leave behind the world of static and rigid 3-5-10 year strategies, looked at occasionally, if ever, and then reworked with much effort at their end-of-life, to sit and gather dust again until the next ‘strategic period’ arrives.
Using our Rapid Evolving Strategic Outcomes framework helps to continuously identify and adjust to the evolving needs and expectations of customers and the operating environment, whilst maintaining focus on building a successful future.
Our co-created approach to the formulation, communication and execution of business outcome focused strategy helps develop a roadmap and Lean Strategic Portfolio that can be continuously monitored and adjusted as needed in these modern times of uncertainty, volatility, complexity and ambiguity (our VUCA world).
We help build and execute core Business Strategy, and identify, develop and connect key supporting strategies such as, in the example above, Digital Strategy, IT Strategy, Cybersecurity Strategy, Cloud Strategy, and Customer Experience Strategy.

The 1-Page Visual Strategy
Strategies are produced by many businesses to guide their stakeholders towards a shared vision, and they come in many forms and sizes. As the world continues to grow more challenging for businesses, the content of strategy documents has tended to increase in volume and variety. Items such as the mission statement, statement of purpose, enterprise goals, stakeholder commitments, key principles, corporate values, strategic outcomes, and so forth, find their way into strategy documents in the hope of ‘covering all bases’ for completeness and perceived management of risk.
Strategy documents are therefore often over-engineered, involving complex analyses, time-consuming collaborations, and lengthy preparation, review, and approval processes. The simple fact is that too much effort is spent producing a document that is usually difficult to read and digest, and that rapidly depreciates in value from the moment it is published. When so much effort goes into preparing it, there is a natural reluctance to make costly changes to it as reality quickly and inevitably overtakes the original strategic thinking. As a result, strategies that lose relevance are soon ignored, common shared strategic expectations are lost, and the purpose of developing strategy at all as a unifying planning tool is sometimes challenged.
Make no mistake, strategy is more important than ever.
For effective communication to people at all levels of your organisation, a 1-Page Visual Strategy can make the business priorities and future intentions clear to everyone so they know how they may be impacted or involved in the successful execution of the strategy.
The thinking and hard work required to produce strategy still needs to be done. However, it can be done much faster and maintained more effectively by following a rapid iterative approach. It is widely accepted that visual presentation of complex topics is far easier for many people to process in their mind. A one-page strategy picture can be simple to follow and quick to update as changes occur, ensuring the overall strategic story is effectively told and kept up to date for the benefit of all stakeholders.
